The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has emphasised the importance of professionalism among its cadet officers in serving the motoring public across the state and ensuring effective traffic management.

Hon. Sola Giwa, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, stated this during the commencement of a three-day training course for LASTMA Cadet Officers at the Foursquare International Conference Centre in Orisunbare, Idimu, Lagos, adding that the significance of upholding ethics and professionalism in their roles cannot be over-emphasised.

He highlighted integrity, honesty, impartial application of the law, and respectful treatment of all citizens and colleagues, even in challenging situations, as essential principles. The SA, however, cautioned Cadet Officers of the Agency to shun corruption and be disciplined in the course of the job ahead of them.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Olalekan Bakare Oki, the General Manager of LASTMA, underscored the objective of the training course to equip officers with the latest traffic management techniques, strategies, and best practices.

He emphasised the importance of providing exceptional service to the citizens of Lagos State and fostering relationships and networks for career advancement.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the cadet officers, one of the attendees commended the Lagos State Government for the opportunity to undergo training and pledged that they will uphold the agency’s standards while fulfilling their duties to the public
